Lucky to still be alive and around

Yesterday I had to fly Vegas NY because the show was over and we have another show starting tomorrow. I didn't really wanna leave so I tried to give up my ticket because the flight was overbooked but in the end they didn't need mine anymore so I had to fly.

I really wanted to stay one more day in Vegas because I really like it there plus it was so hot I was walking around in a wife beater I didn't wanna come back to that cold NY weather. But I ended up getting in the plane were I found out we were gonna be delayed because of strong wind back in NY. Anyways, I called my friends and parents to let them know I was gonna get there later than scheduled and instantly after I fell asleep but woke up after a little bit when the captain announced we had to do an emergency landing. The hydraulic system was lost which caused the panels in the wings and the wheels to block, along with some oil leak that could've caused an explosion upon landing. For that reason there were a million fire department cars waiting for us when we landed that took care of the situation right away and then towed us to the gate where we switched planes.

I have to be honest and say that I didn't realize the gravity of the situation until after it happened probably because I was in shock and they knew what to say to us so we don't freak out, even though someone did have a panic attack while we were still in the air.
We switched planes and got to NY around 2:30 am but safe thank God!
Now I realize I could've been dead now and it really freaks me out, but what can you do, even cars crash, things happen, we just have to move on.
